Beer Bread

I've found that a half size loaf is perfect for a meal with 2-4 people. Total making time is about an hour--great with slowcooker corned beef and cabbage!
1 1/2 cup flour (I use bob's redmill GF blend with 1/8 tsp xantham gum added)
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 scant tblsp brown sugar
1/4 stick butter (melted)
6oz beer (try to find something not too hoppy, I really liked Guinness for the flavor)
optional: shredded cheddar or pepperjack cheese
preheat to 350 degrees
1) butter or grease a loaf pan
2) combine flour, baking soda, salt, brown sugar
3) whisk in butter and beer (and cheese if adding)
4) pour into the loaf pan
5) bake for about 45 min or until the top is a little browned and a toothpick comes out clean
